Yohanan Simon, painter, born 1905, Berlin. From 1927 lived mainly in France. 1934 Worked in New York for journal Vogue. Until 1953 was a member of Kibbutz Gan Shmuel. Executed a number of murals for Israeli ships, public buildings and hotels, including Bank of Israel offices in New York and hotel on the Ivory Coast. Also illustrated books and designed stage-sets.
